The proposed hotel, nicknamed “The Slug” by its adversaries, has sparked outrage and been accused of “vandalising” the natural beauty of Australia’s premier wine region.

The winery’s owner says they want to create “a Sydney Opera House for the Barossa”. Minus the beautiful harbour backdrop, of course.
