World’s largest sailing ship to make Aussie debut with bonus rail deal
An Australian first has put more wind in the cruise industry’s sails (and sales), with loads of travellers reserving their spot on the world’s largest sailing ship.
Set to make her Aussie debut next summer, Tradewind Voyages’ new luxury ship, Golden Horizon, is the line’s most eco-friendly vessel, boasting 6,300 square metres of billowing sails under the sole power of wind 70 per cent of the time.
To add to the excitement, Cruise Traveller, Australia’s small-ship cruise specialist, is offering a special ‘rail and sail package’ so your clients can journey across Australia on board both Golden Horizon and the iconic Indian Pacific train.
The Indian Pacific has received a surge in bookings, with departures full to the brim of clients redeeming the rail credits they received due to COVID-19, but Cruise Traveller has managed to save a few spots for its slow-travel-loving clients.
The ‘Rail and Sail Remote Southwestern Australia’ package takes clients on a 16-night journey beginning in Sydney on 19 January 2022 with an overnight journey aboard the legendary Indian Pacific to Adelaide, with onboard meals and drinks included along with an excursion in Broken Hill.
Two nights in an Adelaide hotel follow before guests board the majestic, 272-guest Golden Horizon for a 13-night voyage to Perth.
The voyage from Adelaide to Perth aboard the mighty, 162-metre-long ship will feature eight destinations along Australia’s southern coast, including small and remote places not visited by larger ships such as the wildlife-rich Kangaroo Island, oyster capital Coffin Bay and Head of Bight, a spectacular bay in the Great Australian Bight lined by the longest stretch of uninterrupted sea cliffs in the world.
Flanking the Nullarbor Plain, the Bunda Cliffs here stretch for more than 100 kilometres and soar 120 metres vertically from the sea.
The voyage also features the WA destinations of Esperance, home to some of Australia’s whitest beaches; the rugged beauty of Israelite Bay, the fishing village of Bremer Bay; the pretty coastal town of Albany and Busselton, gateway to the famous Margaret River wine region.
The holiday ends in Perth with a flight back to Sydney.
The 16-night rail and sail package is available from $10,575 per person, twin-share in an Oceanview cabin (Category C1), ex Sydney, including transfers and beer and wine with lunch and dinner aboard the ship. Upgrade your client to a Gallery deck (Category A1) midship cabin for an extra $2,050 per person, twin share.
Golden Horizon promises seafarers a fine cuisine dining room, three pools, a gym, a library, a spa sanctuary, four bars, a marina platform and a collection of kayaks, waterskis and wakeboards for guests to use. All 140 cabins will offer ocean vistas.
During her inaugural visit to Australia this summer, Golden Horizon will circumnavigate the continent between this December and next February, with Cruise Traveller offering a range of sectors from 14 to 73 nights.
Call Cruise Traveller on 1800 507 777 or go HERE to find out more. The rail and sail package is valid until 15 June 2021, unless sold out prior or offer is withdrawn.
