WLCL Summit tackles challenges to capture land dwellers

The 2016 World Leading Cruise Line Summit wrapped up over the weekend on-board Carnival Spirit, with agents gaining insight knowledge on how to capture those first-time cruisers.

Carnival Corporation & PLC President and CEO Arnold Donald opened the summit, addressing the 200-strong agent group from Australia and New Zealand about the need to capture those travellers who chose land based holidays over a cruise.

The Carnival Cruise Lines Group brands Seabourn, Cunard, P&O Cruises, P&O World Cruises Princess Cruises, Holland America Line (HAL) and Carnival Cruises, are focused on targeting first time cruisers by breaking down barriers to get people on board for the first time.

Out of the billions of people who travelled last year cruising only captured 2 percent of the beds.

Inspired by the summit theme ‘Seas The Opportunity’, travel agents left the four day cruise summit eager to be a part of the growing industry and tap into the cruise potential for clients.
