Intrepid urges the industry to close shop on Friday 

Intrepid is urging travel companies to close shop next Friday 20th September to take a stance on the global issue of climate change.

The adventure travel company, known as a leader for climate action in the travel industry, will be joining the thousands of school children and Australian businesses in the Global Climate Strike who are demanding immediate climate action from our elected leaders.

Intrepid will be giving around 300 Australian-based staff the opportunity to join the Global Climate Strike on Friday 20 September. Millions of school children around the world are calling on adults to join them in the streets and send a message to governments and businesses.

The Melbourne-based company has been carbon neutral since 2010, offsetting operations and each of their traveller’s carbon emissions, as well as ensuring their trips are low impact. By 2020, Intrepid is set to become a climate-positive business.

World Expeditions launches Amazon Forest appeal

The Amazon Forest Appeal will be administered through World Expeditions Foundation (WEF), the company’s not-for-profit, philanthropic arm, with 100 per cent of donations to be directed to Earth Alliance, an environmental foundation created by climate change crusader, Leonardo DiCaprio and his philanthropic friends.
