Who the hell is Jesse Desjardins?

Jesse Desjardins is Tourism Australia’s global manager, social & content.

Oh, and he’s also a speaker at the upcoming Travel DAZE forum thingy we keep banging on about!

Desjardins is well aware of the digital disruption that is currently rocking the travel boat, and is a critical thinker with plenty of ideas on how to survive this travel apocalypse.

First it was hotels rocked by Airbnb, aviation by Low Cost Carriers, and travel marketing by Instagram. Now travel agencies are under attack. And speakers like Desjardins are here to give you the skills you need to thrive not dive.

Since arriving from Canada in 2006 on a Working Holiday Visa, Desjardins has become one of Australia’s biggest fans, which is fitting that he manages Tourism Australia’s global social media and content programs.

In his four years in the organisation he’s helped cement Australia as the global tourism leader on social making Tourism Australia’s popular Facebook, Instagram and Google+ profiles the most followed globally.

Today Desjardins heads up both the social and content team helping once again make Australia.com a leading platform. He was named one of Skift’s most influential people in travel.

Desjardins holds an MBA with a focus on Creative Leadership and wrote his thesis on the lessons we can learn from the iconic Paul Hogan tourism ads of the 80s.

Travel DAZE is hands down the most influential forum for the Australian travel industry.

It’s as simple as that.
