What you missed from Helloworld’s OMC

The 2017 Helloworld Travel Owner Managers Conference (OMC) and Helloworld Business Travel Summit has wrapped up in style with delegates leaving the conference with a shared insight and positive outlook on the future direction for the company.

The combined OMC and Business Summit saw over 750 delegates come together with preferred supplier partners, senior executives and staff for what has been heralded as the biggest and best ever.

Hosted on the Gold Coast at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, the delegates experienced an exciting array of evening activities including dinner events at SeaWorld and SkyPoint with Qantas CEO Alan Joyce in attendance.

The esteemed Gala Awards Dinner hosted by Qantas saw Branded, Associate and Corporate Award Winners recognised for excellence. And the final night went off with a bang as guests enjoyed a highly memorable evening at Movie World sponsored by Etihad Airways, featuring the much anticipated surprise entertainment – Jimmy Barnes, and a Spooky Scooby Doo Castle DJ after-party to finish off the proceedings.

CEO Andrew Burnes opening presentation was a highlight, delivering an abundance of announcements including; the launch of the newly revamped jingle and brand advertising, a new store look and cost absorbance plan, an exclusive Helloworld Travel Translate app, a new insurance partner, recent updates to the Helloworld Travel website, plus more – there was no shortage of exciting opportunities ahead.

The conference daytime activities included insights into the new Helloworld Travel branding from experts including Russel Howcroft, Kirk Peterson who took the delegates through Leadership training, Jayson Westbury covered off areas of Credit Card surcharging and David Caon and Olivia Wirth gave insight into the Qantas brand and design.

Sessions with HR Lawyers Aaron Goonrey and Amy Frydenberg proved popular with plenty of interaction and Q&A with delegates, as too did the closed networking sessions with senior Helloworld Travel executives including Cinzia Burnes who spoke openly and honestly about the good, the bad and the ugly that her team is working on.

With a record number of supplier partners in attendance the networking lounges were popular with all the delegates as were the amazing prizes on offer. In the closing of the conference it was announced that the 2018 OMC will be held in Adelaide.

2017 Owner Managers Conference top tier sponsors are Qantas, Qantas Holidays, The Cruise Team, Viva Holidays, Ready Rooms, Rail Tickets, Territory Discoveries, Sunlover Holidays, Etihad Airways and The Travel Corporation.
