TravelManagers raises $16,000 for Little Heroes Foundation

Personal travel management company, TravelManagers has raised over $16,000 for the Little Heroes Foundation at its eighth annual national conference.

Held in Adelaide last weekend, 200 delegates attended the ‘Focus’-themed conference.

It featured supplier presentations, keynote speakers and workshops, but the real focus was on a charity auction, the proceeds from which were donated to South Australian foundation, Little Heroes.

Little Heroes is a South Australia-based charity organisation supporting seriously ill children living with cancer and their families.

TravelManagers’ executive general manager, Michael Gazal said it had become a tradition to include a local community event in the conference agenda.

“It is a truly inspirational organisation that is achieving amazing things for sick children in South Australia and we are honoured and humbled to be involved in some small way in what they are doing.”

The cheque for $16,533 was accepted on behalf of the foundation by Little Heroes’ corporate relationship manager and ex-Australian Diamonds netballer, Natalie Bode, at the conference’s gala dinner.

The money raised will go towards the $4 million Centre for Robotics and Innovation that Little Heroes is building at the Adelaide Women and Children’s Hospital, set to open in December.

Bode explained, “The robotics equipment will help children with neurological disabilities to improve their motor skills and get them out of hospital more quickly.”

The conference delegates also gathered into 36 teams to create a communal work of art, a collage that will hang in the Robotics Centre’s foyer.

“I knew we had some very creative, talented people within the TravelManagers family, but I was still seriously impressed,” said Gazal.

“Everyone at TravelManagers feels privileged to have been a part of something really special. It’s a really great example of how many people focused on working together towards a common goal can achieve amazing things.”
