The travel industry’s most thought-provoking conference got underway this morning in front of a big virtual crowd of industry professionals.
Presented by the Italian National Tourist Board, Travel DAZE 2020 – the only industry event of its scale in Australia this year – has brought together the best minds from within the travel sector, along with external experts, to foster its recovery.
Tourism Australia managing director Phillipa Harrison kicked off proceedings with an insightful and inspiring presentation on how a domestic-led recovery will mark the steps towards rebuilding a sustainable and profitable future for Australian tourism.
Next, it was the Italian National Tourist Board’s marketing and promotion director, Maria Elena Rossi, who explained how the organisation plans to strike the right balance between environmental and economic sustainability in the ‘new normal’.
This afternoon will see Australian Federation of Travel Agents CEO Darren Rudd provide an update on the evolving work that the federation has been doing to help save the sector.
There are also plenty more fab speakers to come this week. Check out the Travel DAZE 2020 agenda HERE to find out when each will be featuring.
And, if you haven’t already registered for the event, don’t stress! We’ve left the attendee gate open for you to enter HERE. Oh, and did we mention that it’s absolutely FREE?
The industry is in shock, but success can be forged through adversity. Let’s evolve to recover.
