Tourism Minister confirmed for Travel DAZE 2016

Australia’s Tourism Minister Richard Colbeck will provide a keynote speech at Sydney’s Belvoir Theatre on June 6 to delegates at this year’s Travel DAZE event (www.traveldaze.com.au). His address will give an unparalleled glimpse into the government’s plans for the travel industry and an insight into the future of tourism in Australia.

Colbeck, a senator for Tasmania since 2002, has been Minister for Tourism and International Education since September last year, when Malcolm Turnbull re-instituted the post after its scrapping during Tony Abbott’s tenure as Prime Minister.

Colbeck spoke exclusively to Travel Weekly back in January and discussed everything from Chinese visitation, border security, domestic tourism and the vexing issue of the Passenger Movement Charge.
