Tigerair flies 21 millionth passenger

Theodora van Ravenstein from Ballarat and her daughter Martina Ahtuam were Tigerair Australia’s 21 millionth passenger, departing from Melbourne Airport yesterday.

Reaching the big milestone of 21 doesn’t happen every day and to celebrate, the lucky 21 millionth passenger and her daughter were met at Melbourne Airport upon arrival and presented with a $500 travel voucher to put towards future travel on the Tigerair network.

“We’re travelling to Sydney this morning to visit my granddaughter and this has already made our day,” Ahtuam said.

“We regularly choose to fly Tigerair as they provide a great value and reliable option for us to get to Sydney to spend time with our family up there and we will definitely be using these vouchers to see them more often.”

Tigerair Australia Head of Communications Vanessa Regan says the 21 millionth passenger milestone is another significant milestone for the airline which continues to go from strength to strength in terms of punctuality performance and customer satisfaction.

“Reaching 21 is cause for celebration for many and it’s no different for the team at Tigerair Australia. Welcoming our 21 millionth passenger onboard since operations commenced in Australia in November 2007 is a major achievement for our airline,” Regan said.

“The number 21 is also associated with coming of age and we’re proud to say that Tigerair is now consistently delivering on its promise of great and reliable fights with exceptional customer service.”

“Tigerair has been the most punctual low cost carrier over the past eighteen months, held the lowest cancellation rate of all major domestic airlines over the same period, and introduced a number of customer facing initiatives to make booking and flying Tigerair better than ever before.”
