The world’s best airlines are…

Airline Ratings has released their annual ratings, with Air New Zealand winning best airline in the world for the fourth year in a row.

“In our objective analysis Air New Zealand came out number one in virtually all of our audit criteria, which is an exceptional performance,”  AirlineRatings.com publisher Geoffrey Thomas said.

Virgin Australia was awarded Best Cabin Crew as well as being appointed best business class. Virgin Australia’s experience ‘The Business’ is on board the Boeing 777 Airbus A330 fleet.

“We are very proud to once again have our incredible Cabin Crew recognised for being the best in the world. Every time you step on a Virgin Australia aircraft, our Cabin Crew’s infectious enthusiasm and commitment to providing great service is evident,” Virgin Australia group executive John Thomas said.

Etihad Airways has also won best first class and best long haul airline for the Middle East and Africa.

“Etihad Airways’ attention to excellence at every level has resulted in a third consecutive win for Best First Class and Best Long Haul Airline Middle-East and Africa as well as a placing in AirlineRatings.com Top Ten,” Thomas said.

“To win Best First Class and Best Long Haul Airline Middle-East and Africa for the third consecutive year is a great honour and cements our position as a leader in innovative products, intuitive service and world-class hospitality,” Etihad Airways chief executive officer Peter Baumgartner said.

Best Long Haul Airline: Etihad (Middle East/Africa), Singapore Airlines (Asia/Pacific), Virgin Atlantic (Europe) and Delta Airline Lines (The Americas)

Best Low Cost Airlines: Virgin America (The Americas), Scoot (Asia/Pacific), Kulula.com (Africa/ Middle-East) and Norwegian (Europe)

Regional Airline of the Year: Flybe

Most Improved Airline: Garuda Indonesia
