The deal is done – Helloworld’s new CEO looks forward

With Helloworld’s merger with AOT Group now complete, incoming chief executive and managing director Andrew Burnes has turned his attention to the future.

Upon yesterday’s the completion of the deal, Burnes took up his new position with Cinzia Burnes also taking up her appointment as executive director of the company and group managing director of the AOT Group.

“The merger is an exciting opportunity to integrate two complementary businesses to create the second largest integrated travel distribution business in the Australian and New Zealand markets,” he said.

“I have a fundamental belief in the future of these two businesses, including our franchise and buying group networks, our wholesale and inbound operations and our corporate TMC business.”

Burned added that he looked forward to leading the Group and to “driving its future and potential successes”.

The deal, first flagged back in September, was finally settled in December with shareholders approving it last month.
