TAA appoints new chairman

Tourism Accommodation Australia (Victoria) announced today that Greg Moore had accepted the role as Chairman of Tourism Accommodation Australia (Victoria) and George Varughese  as Vice-Chairman.

Moore brings to the role over 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry within various areas of operations and management and has been General Manager of the Crown Promenade Hotel for the past 13 years while serving on many industry boards, including as Deputy Chairman of TAA( Vic).

Vice-Chairman Varughese has 25 years of international experience in hotel operations in Austria, Germany, China, Malaysia, USA and has been General  Manager of the Melbourne Marriott Hotel for the past seven years, while also on the board of Destination Melbourne.

Current Chairman Robert Dawson decided to stand down from his position due to increasing company commitments, though he will remain as an active contributor on the TAA National Board.

TAA (Vic) sincerely thanked Dawson for his commitment and strong contribution to Victoria’s accommodation sector, and it looks forward to continuing the continuing the industry’s growth and achievements under the leadership of Greg Moore and George Varughese.
