Skytrax awards top airports

Singapore Changi Airport has been named the Best Airport in the prestigious global Skytrax World Airport Awards 2016 at a gala industry event held in Cologne, Germany overnight.

A majority of the top 10 airports worldwide listed were in Asia. Rounding out the top 10 airports in order are Incheon International Airport, Munich Airport, Tokyo International Airport (Haneda), Hong Kong International Airport, Chūbu Centrair Nagoya, Zurich Airport, London Heathrow Airport, Kansai International Airport and Hamad International Airport.

In Australia, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is celebrating after Brisbane Airport (BNE) was named Best Airport in the Australia/Pacific category.

Brisbane Airport also ranked 4th in Best Airports in the World (servicing 20-30 million passengers), and increased its position to 17th in the World’s Top 100 Airports list, up from 20/100 in 2015.

Julieanne Alroe, BAC CEO and Managing Director, said there was no greater accolade than being voted the best by global travellers in the world’s most prestigious industry awards.
