Singapore Airlines adds Sydney via Jakarta route

Singapore Airlines is further expanding its footprint in Australia, adding a three times weekly service from Sydney via Jakarta (Indonesia) to Singapore starting 23 November.

Connecting Australia, Indonesia and Singapore, the route will be operated by Boeing 777-200ER featuring 26 business class seats and 245 economy class seats.

The new flights will bring the total to 34 weekly flights between Sydney and Singapore and 74 weekly flights a week between Singapore and Jakarta.

Virgin Australia, SIA said alliance partner, would codeshare on the new route, making it a game changer in the Sydney-Jakarta route that is currently served by Qantas and Garuda Indonesia.

Flight SQ262 will operate Sydney to Jakarta on an 11:00 departure every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. This will arrive at 14:35 to connect with the 15:35 departure of SQ262 Jakarta to Singapore.
