Aussie travellers now have more travel options as Scoot extended its Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) routes to four major cities around Australia.

Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and the Gold Coast are now all available for the airline’s services to Singapore.

Under the VTL scheme, fully vaccinated travellers may enter Singapore without quarantine if they present negative results from pre-departure and on-arrival Covid-19 tests, and meet all prevailing eligibility requirements.

Scoot’s VTL scheme will also extend to Germany, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Malaysia, The Philippines, and Thailand.

Scoot’s CCO, Calvin Chan, said he is excited about expanding the airline’s VTL and believes it’s a step forward in rebuilding the international travel industry after the pandemic.

Chan said: “Scoot is excited to provide more destinations in our network that now offer quarantine-free travel both ways for fully vaccinated customers, at pocket-friendly prices.

“The announcement of the expansion of the VTL scheme is an encouraging step for the travel and aviation industry, allowing us to cater to the pent-up demand for travel over the past two years, be it for work or school, to reconnect with friends and family, or to explore new experiences.

“As we continue to gradually expand our footprint across the world, the health and safety of our customers and crew will remain a priority for us, and we look forward to operating more VTL services soon.”

Scoot’s announcement comes after the Singapore-based airline made plans last month to launch Singapore-Gold Coast flights, which are now included in the VTL.

The flights took off from Singapore on Valentine’s day and landed on the Gold Coast on 15 February.
