Qantas accidentally creates Tinder of the skies

Couple travellers walking in airport terminal walkway with traveling bag or luggage for honeymoon travel abroad. Concept of couple traveling.

This week, Qantas debuted the first aircraft from its Dreamliner fleet (and a gorgeous ad campaign to boot), with a bunch of new features including larger seats and windows and less greenhouse emissions.

Oh, and also a feature that let’s you innocently chat with fellow flyers.

Did we say innocent?

‘Seatchat’ is already being deemed the Tinder of the sky, with many saying the offering could reinvigorate the mile-high club.

According to news.com, the function has been around on some planes for a few years, however for some reason, it’s receiving a lot more hype on the new Dreamliner than any other planes we can think of.

The idea of Seatchat is to allow you to message anyone on the plane via their seat number.

This in itself seems tricky, you don’t really want to be caught squinting your eyes at a row of seats trying to figure out what numbers they are.

But of course, if there’s a will (an attractive passenger), there’s a way.

We don’t need to remind you how long some flights to and from Australia take especially if you’re flying solo, and if ‘Seatchat’ offers some much needed company during the haul, we’re all up for it.

In saying that, we’re going to turn a blind eye to the likelihood of this friendly and innocent feature taking a nosedive into more risque territory.
