Princess Cruises has extended its pause on operations in Australia and New Zealand until at least 31 May 2021.
The line’s parent company had previously set the return date as 8 February 2021, but said this morning it would extend the date due to ongoing uncertainty around when international travel restrictions might be lifted.
Passengers booked on a cruise before 31 May can opt for a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) with an additional 25 per cent of the fare paid.
However, refunds must be requested before 30 November 2020 or they will receive the FCC offer instead.
According to Princess, the line will protect travel agent commissions on bookings for cancelled cruises that were paid in full.
Princess Cruises’ parent company also made headlines recently, with Carnival disclosing a ransomware attack on one of its brands in August that leaked guests, employees and crew’s personal information.
