New guide for tourism businesses released

Designed to suit all NSW tourism business sizes and budgets to provide opportunities and support resources.

A new free guide to support the NSW tourism and major events sector has launched to provide an overview of the opportunities and resources available to the state’s tourism industry

The Partner Opportunities with Destination NSW Prospectus July 2015 – June 2016 launched today, according to Destination NSW chief executive officer, Sandra Chipchase is a resource open to the entire NSW tourism industry.

“This year’s Prospectus has been designed to be more streamlined so that industry partners can gain a better understanding of what’s on offer through Destination NSW and how we can help them to reach out to more customers and trade partners in NSW, Australia and our priority international markets,” Chipchase said.

“The Prospectus is a user-friendly guide that details the many and varied resources that are available to the tourism industry, including website listings, free industry research, toolkits, publicity opportunities, trade events and product showcases.”

Industry will also be able to access video resources and a 10,000 strong image library.

Chipchase said NSW tourism and major events currently delivers $28.1 billion to the state’s economy, resulting in support for 159,000 jobs.

With NSW currently leading Australia’s tourism boom, initiatives such as the Prospectus “present opportunities for us to increase our lead even further and move closer to achieving the goal of doubling overnight visitor expenditure to NSW by 2020”, she said.

The opportunities “are designed to suit all business sizes and budgets and demonstrate the ways in which Destination NSW can help promote NSW products, destinations and events,” Industry Partnerships and Government Policy, gm, Simonne Shepherd said.

The Prospectus is available on the Destination NSW website and any businesses interested in connection with the agency is encouraged to complete the Expression of Interest form contained in the document.
