This week, we cracked our finest bottle of red and watched soap operas with Air Tickets’ national operations manager. She repaid us by filling out this interview template.

The things I like about my job…

The people. We are a big family at Air Tickets. It is so amazing to see colleagues who have been there for more than 20 years who have such great experience in the industry.

And the frustrations are…  

Managing my team across multiple time zones in Australia. There is never a dull moment or enough hours in the day!

A challenge for the industry is…  

Multiple airline processes to manage and drive efficiency across our business.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be…

A dentist.

My favourite airline is…

Thai Airways. The crew always make you feel welcome and excited about Thailand before you arrive.

My proudest moment was…

When Air Tickets received the Best Agency Support Service award at the NTIAs in Sydney.

It was very rewarding and satisfying to receive the recognition from our customers and win such a great award, acknowledging the hard work and efforts from everyone across the team.

I try to relax by…

Always making sure I have some ‘me time’ with a glass of red wine and a good soap opera.

The last time I feared for my life was…

On the plane going to Cairns. Big turbulence – my life flashed before my eyes.

If I can, I always try to avoid…

Gardening. This is why I love my husband!

More time to travel and experience more cultures.

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

To stop being my own harshest critic and just enjoy life and focus on my own goals and believe in myself.

Criticise bilingual people, when they can only speak one language!

A Michael Kors sale! Or just any sale!

Buy Michael Kors bags that are not on sale!

On a serious note, I would love to make a difference to as many families as I could in Venezuela, as most people are going through extreme struggles there.

Professional dancer, I love dancing (as a Colombian, it’s part of our blood) , but would love to achieve this at a competitive level.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Egypt – it is on my bucket list.

My favourite holiday was…

An Arabian desert Dune ride, ending with delicious BBQ dinner and watching live folk and belly-dancing under the stars. It was very surreal and romantic.
