Midweek Interview with North Lake Tahoe Chamber’s Sarah Winters

Midweek Interview with North Lake Tahoe Chamber’s Sarah Winters

This week, our midweek interview victim is Sarah Winters, director of leisure sales for North Lake Tahoe Chamber/CVB/Resort Association. And boy, is that a mouthful.

The challenge for the industry is…

Keeping up with the evolving trends of travel in every market.

The things I like about my job…

I can’t say it loud enough, I love my job. I love the opportunity to work within an industry that fuels my number one passion in life, travel.

The best thing about my job is re-experiencing North Lake Tahoe each time we touch a new visitor. To see the magic again through their eyes, makes it well worth it.

And the frustration is…

Finding balance when you are on the road too often.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be…

An entrepreneur, owning my own business has always been a dream of mine.

Favourite airline?

Jetblue – they make travelling in the US easy! More room, more entertainment and better cancellation policies.

My proudest moment was…

Professionally, it was becoming a Director of Sales by the time I turned 30.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

Hmm, even if I could remember, I can’t say I would share!

I try to relax by…

Being in nature – I love walking out my front door and exploring all Tahoe has to offer.

The last time I feared for my life was…

Running off the runway at Denver International Airport, but hey at least we made the news!

If I can, I always try to avoid…

Anything stressful, the best part of living and working in North Lake Tahoe is the stress-free lifestyle.

I really wish I had…

More energy – I need way too much sleep to function!

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

Always have compassion for others as you never know their struggle.

I don’t understand why people…

Are scared of change.

My greatest weakness is…

Taking on other people’s burdens.

And my greatest strength is…

The ability to create long-lasting meaningful relationships.

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…

Take care of my family…boring, but you said aside from travelling!

If I was prime minister I would…

Try to make the world a better place for all our kids.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Croatia.

My favourite holiday was…

Backpacking New Zealand for three months – there is nothing more freeing than a solo trip!
