Meet the Women in Travel: Helloworld’s Julie Primmer

To celebrate the illustrious Women in TravelTravel Weekly will sit down with 20 women of the Australian travel industry, to hear their stories of success, setbacks and female empowerment.

This time we talk to Helloworld Travel Head of Branded Network Julie Primmer.

I love being in the magic of travel

By selling travel, I make a difference.

As a consultant I create memories for customers, and change someone’s life experiences.

I also love watching people I’ve worked with and mentored over the years go on to bigger and better things within the industry.

Small businesses can be challenging

Travel agencies are small businesses, and working within them you see firsthand they sometimes do it tough.

They’re susceptible to things outside of their control like economics, environment or world events that can impact on the business overall.

These challenges are faced by the whole industry, but together we’ll work through them.

It’s all about equal opportunity

Gender shouldn’t determine outcomes; rather it’s about the right person for the job and being paid accordingly.

At Helloworld Travel, we ensure that everyone has the same opportunity for career progression, whether that’s in training or career advancement.

Travel Weekly is proud to present the Women in Travel Awards held on 27 November at Doltone House Darling Island.

The awards night will be a gala cocktail party where we will also be announcing Travel Weekly’s Power List – recognising the 30 most influential women in the Australia travelscape.

More than just recognition, the Awards provide an opportunity for new business opportunities and network expansion, as well as a chance to learn from some of the most empowering and inspiring women in your industry.

Come along, gush over winners and finalists, and mingle with the industry’s best.
