Look Out Big Banana, McDonalds Is Bringing Us The ‘Big Big Mac’

From the Big Banana, to the Big Prawn to the Big Merino, it is no secret Australian’s are obsessed with big things!

Australia’s famous list of ‘big things’ have been favourite stop-offs on holiday road trips for decades, however, this Australia Day, Macca’s is bringing something even BIGGER to the Aussie landscape!

To show its love for local legends who produce ingredients that go into the Big Mac, Macca’s is launching the Down Under Big Big Mac in the agricultural hub of Tamworth in NSW, to join Australia’s every-growing and famous list of “big things.”

“With locally sourced beef, lettuce, pickles and wheat, it’s our homegrown ingredients that help make the Big Mac an Aussie favourite. We think the Down Under Big Big Mac is a fitting way to say thanks to our Aussie farmers and suppliers in Australia,” said Jo Feeney, Director of Marketing at McDonalds.

Standing more than eight metres tall and over 18,500 times the volume of a real Big Mac, the Down Under Big Big Mac is a towering tribute to Aussie farmers who produce ingredients for the burger, praised Col Murray, Tamworth’s Region Mayor.

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome the Down Under Big Big Mac to Tamworth. Agriculture is at the heart of our community with farmers taking great pride in supplying the tastiest and best produce. The Down Under Big Big Mac is a great way to say thanks to the farmers here in Tamworth and across the country who help keep Australian agriculture prosperous,” said Murray.

Whether heading to Tamworth’s legendary country music festival, or enjoying a holiday road trip through Northern NSW, Aussies are encouraged to get a bit of the action, by heading down to Waler Park, Kable Avenue Tamworth to check out the biggest Aussie burger the country has to offer!
