Liquidators brought in for Aussie travel group

An Australian travel company with multiple divisions appears to have taken its last breath, with liquidators appointed to wind up the group.

According to a notice issued by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission last week, Peter Gountzos and Michael Carrafa of SV Partners were appointed as joint liquidators for Extragreen Travel Group on 26 February.

The company describes itself as “unique with multiple in-house divisions” on its website, which was still live at the time of publishing.

With its head office in Melbourne, the group traded as travel agency Extragreen Holidays, which encompassed six retail stores across Victoria, Queensland and NSW. It also operated a wholesale brand, Amazing Vacations, along with a local tour operation called Melbourne’s Best Tours.

Furthermore, Evergreen Travel Group offered tailored transport and customised tour planning via the Extragreen Group Travel & Charter Services brand, and even had an education consultancy division called Meeting Point.

The company claims to have won multiple awards as well as being nominated as the Australian representative for travel agents by the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia and Tourism Changsha in China.

Travel Weekly has approached both Extragreen Travel Group and SV Partners for comment.
