Leonardo DiCaprio and pals save Club Med crewman who fell overboard in the Caribbean

An inebriated Club Med crewman who fell overboard from a company-owned yacht has reportedly been rescued by Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

The man, thought to have been drunk at the time, fell from the cruise vessel near St Martin and had been treading water for 11 hours, according to multiple media reports.

He was rescued near Saba Island – around 45 kilometres (28 miles) from St Martin.

DiCaprio – who was holidaying at the time near the island of St Bart’s – and the crew on board his yacht were “the only responders” to an emergency call sent out seeking help to locate the man.

“Leonardo played a blinding role in his own real-life Hollywood movie,” a source told The Sun.

“He saved the life of a man overboard who incredibly had survived by treading water for 11 hours. Leonardo’s boat was the only vessel looking for him.

“The captain put the man’s chances of survival at one in a billion — like winning the lottery twice,” the source said.
