Jetstar launches new fare structure and ticketing in GDS

Melbourne, Australia - August 30, 2013: Airbus A320-232 airliner operated by Australian low cost airline Jetstar airways on approach to land at Melbourne Airport.

Travel agents in Australia will now be able to book Jetstar fares in their Global Distribution System and book tickets on Qantas (081) with or without a Qantas fare.

Jetstar’s GDS fare structure is also being changed, introducing a new seat-only starter fare class (RBC C) and making Starter Plus and Starter Max fares available in lower booking classes.

These fare changes and ticketing capabilities will be available across the domestic and international networks of Jetstar Airways (JQ), Jetstar Japan (GK), and Jetstar Asia from August 4 onwards.

Qantas Agency Connect will continue to support Qantas ticketed bookings containing both airline’s flights, and Jetstar Industry Support will provide the servicing for ticketed bookings containing only its flights.

The airline’s updated GDS fare structure will have reflected at different times in each GDS yesterday and may not have appeared in some GDS’ until the afternoon.

The airline has released these FAQs for agents seeking more info about this change.
