Hotel Review: Saujana The ClubHouse KL

Hotel Review: Saujana The ClubHouse KL

The Clubhouse provided an escape from the hustle and bustle but is only 30 minutes away from KL’s centre.

Along with a spontaneous invitation to a Indian-Australian Wedding celebration there, it made for a memorable stopover at this luxury hideaway.

First Impression/ Look and Feel on Arrival

The Clubhouse, a boutique hotel within the grounds, is contemporary architecture with a modern Asian twist, designed by renowned Indonesian Architect, Jaya Ibrahim, the art and interiors blend beautifully together to create a striking first impression.

The Saujana Hotel, which is part of the WorldHotels Collection portfolio, sits on 160 hectares of tropical forest and gardens with 355-rooms which range in scale and extras, is affordable luxury.

The clubhouse, the ‘upmarket’ part of the hotel, features 105 rooms with access to all the facilities of the bigger hotel but nestled away for privacy.

Location

The Saujana is located in the Subang Shah Alam, only 30 minutes from KL City Centre and 35 minutes from LK international airport which makes it a nice stopover on route to Europe for those seeking to break up the long haul from Australia.

There is no shortage of attractions and things to do in Shah Alam including the famous blue mosque, the lake gardens for cycling and kayaking and a water park for the little ones.

The Rooms

The room reviewed was the club room and at 43 sqm with a king-size bed, a workstation and a day-bed with a view of the gardens was extremely comfortable.  The bathroom was the wow factor which we enjoyed with salts after a busy few days of travelling, it was the perfect unwind.

Drinking and Dining

You are spoilt for choice with dining at the Saujana with 7 restaurants to choose from and world-class chefs.

The culinary offerings at the resort are globally influenced with modern and traditional Malaysian flavours and the abundance of fresh and local produce serves all palates exceptionally well.

We also were fortunate enough to enjoy the food served at an Indian- Australian Wedding, as spontaneous guests, we danced and dined the night away.

Verdict

The Clubhouse offers travellers excellent resort facilities, sophisticated and well-considered art and design aesthetics, well-appointed stylish rooms, what we at Travel Weekly call a classic affordable luxury offer due to its price point.

The resort has a distinctly upmarket feel without a hefty price tag. This resort and its event facilities will also impress planners in the MICE market and of course the most romantic location for a wedding. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful which is always the icing on the cake.
