Hotel review: Four Seasons Bora Bora

Hotel review: Four Seasons Bora Bora

We check out the Four Seasons in Bora Bora, all for work of course.

As part of our traversing around stunning resorts in French Polynesia for this year’s Tahiti Travel Mart, we were lucky enough to spend a night at the Four Seasons in Bora Bora.

Room 10/10

The over-water bungalow was ginormous. A lounge room, a bedroom, a small, open-plan room for a bath, and an open-plan type bathroom with separate toilet and shower.

Arguably one of the main features in the bungalow was the bath. It was huge, so huge I got a bit lost in it. It took me a while to figure out the plug (tip: you turn the knob on the bath), but the Four Seasons provided a bath bomb which fizzled away happily in the scalding water.

The pillows on the bed moulded to your head making me almost fall asleep instantly.

One of the best things about the bungalow, besides the bath and the pillow, was the outside balcony bit. Along with having the standard ladder leading into the azure waters below, the Four Seasons had high walls on each side of the balcony, making you feel very secluded and private. The resort also provided snorkel equipment and a lifejacket in a chest on the balcony, which was an added bonus.

Service 9/10

Our group was greeted by many of the staff upon arrival, who showed us individually to our rooms, the tips and tricks with them like where the coffee machine and music device were, and made us feel very welcome.

The golf-buggy service to transport guests around the resort is pretty good, although obviously would have to wait a good few minutes during peak time, such as during brekkie, lunch or dinner.

All staff were friendly and greeted you upon passing, which made the resort have a warm and welcoming feel.

Facilities 9/10

I soon understood why the Four Seasons offered a golf buggy service, the resort is huge. Killing some time before dinner, I had a stroll around to get my bearings. There’s a number of lagoon areas to swim and snorkel, as well as a gym and spa located at the back of the resort. While not in the resort itself, the reef behind is beautiful, and there’s a lovely little walk along it you can do.

The resort also has a pool, and a few restaurants. Our Travel Mart group actually ate in one of the incredibly luxurious villas rather than at one of the restaurants, and the food we had was impeccable.

The only thing I would note, is that when walking around the resort at night it was quite dark. While stunning with the minimal light on the waters of the lagoon, I couldn’t see a huge amount on some of the paths – another reason for the golf buggies.

Value for money 9/10

If ultimate luxury and privacy is what you’re after, the Four Seasons is definitely the place for you.
