The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has announced the appointment of Karen Macmillan as its new director for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Most recently, Macmillan worked as a senior advisor on stakeholder engagement at the Australian Federation of Travel Agents. Prior to that, she was Hawaiian Airlines’ local sales and partnerships director.
Macmillan has also worked in marketing and e-commerce roles at Emirates and Cathay Pacific.
Dane Cheng, executive director of the HKTB, said: “The HKTB family extends a warm welcome to Karen.
“As a seasoned travel industry professional, her experience at several leading international airlines brings a wealth of commercial and integrated campaign management experience to the team.
“Karen’s extensive strategy, business planning and strategic partnership development skills will play an integral role in promoting Hong Kong as a desirable travel destination and supporting our tourism recovery, particularly as we prepare for the reopening of international borders.”
