Gwyneth Platrow spruiks wrong cruise line, blames magic mushrooms

Gwyneth Paltrow has blamed magic mushrooms after she accidentally spruiked the wrong cruise line while plugging her new wellness voyage on a talk show.

Last week, the Goop Founder appeared on Late Night with Seth Myers to talk about her new Netflix show The Goop Lab when she was asked about a new collaboration between the wellness brand and Celebrity Cruises.

Paltrow admitted that while she’d never been on an actual cruise, she’d always wanted to so she jumped at the opportunity when she was approached by a cruise line to collaborate.

“I’ve always wanted to do it. We were approached by Royal Caribbean to do a collaboration with them – a wellness one – and so we’re really excited about it,” she said.

Unfortunately, the cruise line Paltrow was supposed to mention wasn’t Royal Caribbean, but Celebrity Cruises.

After speaking about how the cruise would compare to traditional cruises, she realised her mistake.

“I think I just said Royal Caribbean instead of Celebrity Cruises,” Paltrow said.

“I got the cruise wrong because I’m on mushrooms.”

While Celebrity Cruises is owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, it is the line’s upmarket sister brand which will be collaborating on the goop at Sea experience.

“It’s Celebrity Cruises, right Nora?” Paltrow asked someone offscreen.

“Is that right? It is, right? I feel like I’m hallucinating.”

Myers encouraged the Oscar winner to deliver the plug again so it could be edited in.

“I’m so excited. We’re going to do this amazing wellness cruise with them, a collaboration,” Paltrow said.

“Mushrooms anyone?”
