Flight attendant suspended after boyfriend brawls with pilot

Schiphol, The Netherlands - June 12, 2011: British Airways Airbus A320 taking off from Schiphol airport.

A flight attendant has been suspended after her boyfriend reportedly got into a fight with one of the airline’s pilots.

The British Airways flight attendant had invited her boyfriend to come along on a work trip, according to The Sun, but he allegedly got into a physical fight with one of the airline’s pilots in a hotel lobby during a stopover in Singapore.

An airline insider told The Sun that some of the crew “got plastered” allegedly from drinks smuggled off the airline’s inflight trolley.

“Natalie had invited her boyfriend on the trip. He was meant to take a back seat and just enjoy the ride,” the insider said.

“But during the stopover in Singapore he got hammered and ended up fighting with the BA pilot from Natalie’s flight.

“There was a melee and Natalie’s boyfriend hit out.”

The insider said the rest of the crew are questioning why the flight attendant was “paying the price” while the pilot involved in the fight got off scot-free.

“He was involved in the trouble too,” the insider said.

The flight was travelling from Sydney to London via Singapore.

British Airways told Fox News in a statement that it “expects the highest standard of behaviour from our colleagues and will always take the appropriate action”.

The airline did not comment on whether the pilot would face disciplinary action as well.
