A grandmother has got more than she bargained for when she posed for a photo on a beach in Iceland.
Sharing a series of snaps online, Catherine Streng poked fun at her grandmother, who was posing for photos at Diamond Beach when a chunk of ice she was resting broke away and began drifting away with her on top.
According to Streng, a tour guide had given her grandmother permission to pose on the ice slab, and other tourists were doing the same thing.

The grandmother was thankfully rescued by a boat captain from the US, who was in the area at the time.
“He waded out into the roiling water and pulled her off the iceberg as it drifted out to sea,” Streng said.
