Dutch TV personality sparks viral fake holiday challenge

A Dutch reporter has got social media users from all over the world recreating his DIY business-class flight.

Jeroen Gortworst, who produces news content aimed at teenagers for Dutch company NOS stories, appears to be the mastermind behind all those videos popping up on your social media channels of people enjoying business class flights from the comfort of their laundry.

Gortworst posted a video of himself seemingly landing on the famous beachside airport in Sint Maarten, sipping champagne and kicking back. But as the camera zooms out, it is revealed the crafty reporter is simply sitting on the ground in his laundry.

Since then, scores of social media users have uploaded their own creations using Gortworst’s method and even his same soundtrack, including Aussie comedian Rob Shehadie

Some are even adding their own flourishes, like a mid-air snack.
