Dubai Tourism App to be released

Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing is set to release a new app that is expected to make travel stakeholders itineraries “faster and easier”.

The new app, Dubai Tourism City Operations, will help Dubai Tourism secure logistics and itineraries for travel professionals from when they enter until they leave the emirate.

Available for iPhone and Android, the application will digitise travel itineraries, excursions and communication with delegates, it was announced at this week’s Arabian Travel Mart tradeshow.

The app will feature push notifications via SMS, information on excursions, links to social networks, contact details and support for those needing assistance.

A feedback and review section will also be available for professionals to write about their experiences.

Two initial versions will be available, one for the DMCs and the other for hoteliers, giving both the ability to engage and communicate with delegates in real time.

The application will be available for the next Dubai famil on 1 June, which will consist of Japanese delegates.
