Dancing in September with Excite Holidays
Say, do you remember dancing in September?
There is no better time to travel than September, when the North is covered with autumn rouges and the South welcomes a blooming spring. It’s time to create your own Earth, Wind and Fire smash hit with the great rates on offer. The friendly team at Travel Weekly have teamed up with Excite Holidays to make sure your next September is unforgettable…ba de ya.
Here are five September destinations that will make sure you dance the night away.
1. Fiji
September is the time to visit the picture perfect islands that make up Fiji. Falling just outside of peak season, Fiji is the perfect close-to-home island getaway with a little peace and quiet.
Explore the range of islands matched with suitable accommodation, to suit any travelling type. From family-friendly resorts to a romantic five-star escape or a private island with a group of friends, you’ll discover your own version of paradise.
Where should you focus your travels? Well, everyone knows you shouldn’t have favourites, but we can’t help but mention the Coral Coast along the Ocean Road between Nadi and Suva. Extending along the southern coast of Fiji’s biggest island, the Coral Coast is a well-established tourist destination which gives visitors access to, as you’d expect, a wide bank of coral. There is also a unique chance to explore the real Fijian life, with many villages offering home stays.
For a touch of lux, spend a night or two at the Fiji Hideaway Resort & Spa, a boutique beachfront holiday resort ideally located on this beautiful coastline. Famous for the friendliness and fun of the Fijian locals, the resort offers a tropical setting , perfect for a relaxing holiday with the option to participate in an array of activities, including fishing, snorkelling, surfing and cultural tours.
2. Hawaii
Known for its amazing beaches, beautiful scenery and friendly atmosphere, there is no better place to be in September than Hawaii. After a warm aloha greeting, immerse yourself in all the activities the islands have to offer; Snorkel and dive with manta rays, dolphin and whale watching, play sunset by the sea golf and cycle to the summit of Kilauea Volcano. At the end of the day, retreat to your luxury accommodation and secure your hammock for the evening’s sunset performance.
The only problem…? You will be spoilt for choice of places to stay. Here are some quick ideas:
Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort: Located on the shores of Waikiki Beach, this resort features over 20 restaurants, 90 shops and a natural sanctuary with over 60 species of exotic animals. Guestrooms are bright and spacious with views over the resort or ocean.
Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa: This luxury Maui beachfront resort is situated amongst tropical gardens and is only moments away from Walers Shopping complex and Lahaina town. Guestrooms are modern and are decorated in Hawaiian-style. Guests can enjoy a range of dining options with seven restaurants and bars on-site.
Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay: This oceanfront resort is a short distance from the historic Keauhou Bay and offers modern guestrooms with luxe bedding. Dining options include a seafront restaurant serving local dishes and a pool bar.
3. Las Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas is renowned for being the party capital of the world, with its brights lights, dangerous cocktails and fantastic shows. From giant casinos to outlandish restaurants and parties that never stop (until you run out of cash), Las Vegas has redefined entertainment.
The top hotel restaurant on our list? É by José Andrés at the Cosmopolitan. Situated along the famous Strip, this colourful restaurant with José Andrés’ award-winning dining concepts brings a unique culinary experience to Las Vegas, making your trip to Sin City definitely one that you’ll remember forever.
Excite Holiday’s top tip? Don’t just be a night owl, make the most of your trip by booking a day tour to the grand canyon. The autumn colours will make the trip unforgettable.
4. Dubai
Year-round sunshine, luxurious hotels and shopping malls with incredible aquariums. Utra-modern designs, the magnificent Dubai Fountain and a man-made archipelago. Oh, and Burj Khalifa: the tallest man made building in the world.
Okay, Dubai you have our attention.
Around 20 years ago, nearly everything that we see in Dubai today was desert – a fact that seems incomprehensible until you consider that one out of every four cranes on Earth is located in Dubai. But in the fastest growing city in the world, its easy to overlook the tucked-away treasures that aren’t perhaps as world-record breaking as their impressive alternatives, but nonetheless full of character and worth your time. Here is one of our favourites…
Boxpark is Dubai’s retail district made out of shipping containers. It is funky as. This retail district located along Dubai’s Al Wasl Road has quirky dining options, contemporary sustainable art installations and an eclectic mix of shopping options. Boxpark is also somewhat of a contradiction, with its contemporary art displays and high-fashion brands offset against its modest setting: streets, alleyways and shops are modelled on shipping containers. One thing is certain, boxpark is a foodie’s delight with amazing restaurants and cafes set amongst its quirky architectural backdrop. This new, eccentric location is fast becoming a must-see on every travelers list.

5. Berlin
Are you interested in exploring a vibrant culture, cutting-edge architecture, fabulous food, world-famous party scene and tangible history. Well, then Berlin’s unique combination of sophistication and street cred is bound to mesmerise.
The city of many faces, Berlin is increasingly a destination not just for young travellers keen to party for days, or couples looking for a cultural break, but also for families, thanks to a wealth of green spaces, like the sprawling Tiergarten park.
Biking in Berlin is hands down an unmissable experience – especially will the kalidescopic Fall colours. Berlin has a staggering 96 neighbourhoods within 12 districts and the best way to explore these neighbourhoods is by bike, the most popular means of transport. The city has around 1,030kms of dedicated cycling paths, making moving through Berlin both easy and safe for all ages.
