Crew and passengers of a London bound Singapore Airlines flight were shocked to find a stowaway in their midst.
Even more shocking, the stowaway wasn’t human. It was a Javan Mynah bird.
Choosing to travel in style, the opportunistic bird appeared in business-class 12 hours into the 14-hour flight from Changi Airport to Heathrow.
According to Lonely Planet, its assumed the bird entered the plane before passengers did and hid in a dark spot for a rest.
A video posted to Facebook showed the bird perched on a passenger’s headrest only to dart off again when a flight attendant tried to wrangle it.
Eventually, flight attendants were able to secure the little critter and it was handed over to animal quarantine when the plane touched down in London.
Hats off to the Javan Mynah though for craftily avoiding shelling out for a business class ticket. We have much to learn from our avian friends.
