Karma Group acquires the magnificent Borgo Di Colleoli Estate in the Tuscan Hills

Screen Shot 2018-05-17 at 9.46.40 am

Karma Group has announced the acquisition of Borgo di Colleoli, a historical estate in Tuscany, Italy. The sprawling estate is nestled in the stunning Tuscan hills, representing the latest in Karma’s stable of spectacular European estates alongside Le Preverger on the French Riviera, Pelikanos on the Greek island of Mykonos and the soon to open Chateau de Samary in Carcassonne, France.

Over the years, the original medieval castle evolved to become an aristocratic villa and estate. During the 17th and 18th centuries much renovation work was carried out to the frescoes and delicate mouldings, transforming the Borgo into an elegant country retreat. Today the estate encompasses the main villa and the surrounding farm buildings, including a hayloft, a workshop and an administrative building. The Borgo was restored in 2003 under the guidance of the Italian Fine Arts Commission to transform it into a unique holiday destination, with the 50 well-appointed guest apartments situated in the former farm buildings.

No two rooms are completely alike, but all are redolent with Tuscan flair, which is so very much part of the charm of the Borgo. The palatial main villa houses 12 beautiful and spacious suites. The Borgo di Colleoli is the perfect venue for tasting the excellent local wine, in the very good wine bar, which also serves breakfast, snacks and aperitifs throughout the day, whilst the estate’s restaurant is the ideal place to enjoy traditional Tuscan recipes. Guests can strike out and explore the beautiful countryside or relax amongst the ancient olive groves before taking a dip in either of the two panoramic pools.

A “Made in California” summer at the Peninsula Paris

Croquis LR

The Peninsula Paris eliminates your need to cross the Atlantic this summer for a taste of the California life with a nod to wellness, a menu overhaul, sunny decor updates and nightlife offerings that rival that of the City of Angels. Inspired by its sister hotel in Beverly Hills, The Peninsula Paris’ La Terrasse Kléber will be transformed into a hotspot this summer that echos West Coast locales.

La Terrasse Kléber will embrace the West Coast vibe with updated decor including tropical plants, surfboards and decorative, acid-coloured features, all with the aim of recreating a California party atmosphere, away from the clamour of the city.

Golden State chefs are known to be pioneers when it comes to gastronomic developments in healthy eating with their use of local, organic ingredients. David Codney, Executive Chef at The Peninsula Beverly Hills, embraces this approach and in collaboration with Christophe Raoux, Executive Chef at The Peninsula Paris (and winner of the Meilleur Ouvrier de France award for leading chefs), will present the latest California culinary trends at the hotel.

Under the guidance of Chef Codney, the menus at Le Lobby and La Terrasse Kléber will adopt the healthy eating principles much-loved by Californians. New breakfast offerings for guests will include an Açaí bowl, a Crumpet with avocado and egg or a Cholesterol-free omelette. The dishes are designed to treat guests’ tastebuds while teasing eyes through their perfect presentation. Accompanying this early-morning power food, a choice of cold-pressed juices with detox properties, such as a green smoothie made from green fruit and vegetables will also be made available.

Sheraton on the Park brings a new era of elevated experiences to Sydney with renovation of guestrooms and executive Club Lounge complete

Hyde Park View Room

It was 1994. Paul Keating was Australian prime minister, Forrest Gump had us believing life was like a box of chocolates and we were introduced to six Friends from New York. Wet Wet Wet surrounded us all with love and who could forget Liz Hurley in that Versace safety pin dress?

It was also the year Sydney’s first and only five-star hotel on Hyde Park opened. Sheraton on the Park set the benchmark for classic hotels when it welcomed its first guests, offering sophisticated style and personalised service like the city had never seen.

Delivering true hospitality has remained a constant but, ahead of the hotel’s 25th anniversary, Sheraton on the Park will usher in a new era of refined luxury following the completion of a $40million overhaul of its 558 guestrooms and Sheraton Club Lounge.

Led by prominent interior designer Joseph Pang, the new-look hotel combines modern design and classic elegance to provide guests with an elevated experience they are accustomed to in their everyday lives. In the heart of Sydney’s business district and coveted fashion precinct, a purposeful redesign of the 510 guestrooms and 48 suites has shaped a more refined and residential style with an emphasis on sophisticated, yet approachable luxury.
