The historic Shoal Bay Country Club gets a striking facelift
After a six million dollar refurbishment from a run down, yet historic venue, the new owners of the historic Shoal Bay Country Club are excited to bring a cosmopolitan venue to the Port Stephens area.
Under the major revamp of SBCC, The Kitchen, The Patio, Beach Bar, Cane Lounge, Sports Bar and Mermaid Café has been transformed by leading interior designer Rachel Luchetti from Luchetti Krelle, with the desire to recapture the hearts of the locals whilst appealing to holiday markers once again.
The award-winning design firm Luchetti Krelle are the masterminds behind a number of Australia’s high-profile restaurant and bar projects including Adriana Zumbo’s concept store, Zumbo, at The Star Pyrmont, Mode Kitchen and Bar in Sydney to The Byron at Byron Resort and the Food Court for Sydney’s CBD high-end MLC Centre.
Much of the country club’s original 1950s features were reinstated, but with modern improvements. The idea behind the charming renovations was to restore the club back to its former glory, drawing its inspiration from the vibrant beach culture of its heyday – back in the 1950’s.
