Last weekend 320 Travel Managers’ arrived in the Hawaiian Islands for their annual conference. Delegates received a warm aloha welcome at a welcome event hosted by Hawai‘i Tourism on the lawn at Hilton Hawaiian Village with the weekly Friday night fireworks as a back drop.

Pre and post conference, 60 delegates were lucky enough to travel beyond Honolulu to discover the diverse beauty and offerings of Hawaii on the islands of O‘ahu, Maui, Kaua‘i, and Island of Hawai‘i.

These famils were designed to showcase The Hawaiian Islands, equipping agents with the knowledge and skills to more effectively sell the destination.

Luxury resorts, sophisticated boutiques and five-star dining, charming small towns and breathtaking natural landscapes awaited one group on the captivating Island of Maui. They snorkelled at Kā‘anapali beach and then headed to the cooler Upcountry climate to admire the panoramic bicoastal views of Maui while harvesting fresh natural products for breakfast at Oó Farm.

Last week, the Hawaiian Airlines sponsored University of Hawai‘i women’s basketball team, concluded its first ever pre-season international tour of Australia and New Zealand. A highlight of the tour was when the Rainbow Wahine visited the GIANTS Netball team in Sydney, also sponsored by Hawaiian Airlines.

The visit included touring their facilities, along with wishing them well for their impending preliminary final weekend of action.

Judging by all of the sunny smiles, both hosts and visitors enjoyed the opportunity to “talk story,” learning about each other’s training and preparation techniques.
