“Be fearless and unstoppable” Julie King & Associates CEO on getting out of your comfort zone

As you pick yourself up out of your long-weekend daze, you can take comfort in two things: number one, it’s a short week and number two, your pals at Travel Weekly have got some inspirational content to get you back into the swing of things.

So push away that fifth cup of coffee because we’ve got something a bit more wholesome to give you that extra kick.

We chatted with Julie King, CEO of Julie King & Associates, to kick our post-long-weekend, unmotivated, freezing cold butts back into the working week.

Here are her top five tips for getting your sh*t together and progressing your career.

1. Find your why

When you know who you are, where you are going, and why you are doing what you do, you have the foundation in place to succeed and the passion to proceed regardless of any situation or circumstance you face.

As a team, if you understand your purpose and your passion, you become unstoppable and no situation will derail this.

2. Be fearless and unstoppable

Most often than not we thrive when we move out of our comfort zone, so take chances – everything starts with a small step.

I can’t count how many times I have found myself out of my comfort zone over the last 31 years in the industry.

Being in an unstoppable, fearless state allows you to accomplish the goals and dreams most important to you and nothing gets in your way.

3. Find your support team

None of us know everything or are even good at everything – you don’t need to be.

Surround yourself with people in your work environment and externally that fill those missing gaps and learn from them.

Discover your trusted mentors who give you inspiration and sometimes some tough love and allow yourself to be vulnerable.

4. Trust your instincts

And trust your intuition – it is nearly always right. The times in my business where something has not worked is because I did not follow my instinct from the beginning.

Earning and building trust and being transparent is so important within our teams, and our external relationships.

5. Hire a team with passion

In addition to experience, look for passion, a positive “can do” attitude and energy in your team.

In my experience, these attributes have led to our best relationship builders with clients and partners and has led to achieving an award-winning reputation for our clients.
