Air Tahiti Nui launches special edition surfing magazine

Air Tahiti Nui launches special edition surfing magazine
Edited by Travel Weekly

Flagship carrier Air Tahiti Nui, has launched a special edition magazine, Horue, to celebrate the special connection between Tahiti and surfing.

A notion common to several Polynesian languages, “horue” expresses the depths of the ocean which the hollows of a great wave allows us to catch a glimpse of.

Detailing the history of surfing in one of the world’s most popular surfing destinations, the bumper 164-page magazine features artworks and stunning photography including that of Australian Tim McKenna, plus a reflection on how surfing has evolved in each of Tahiti’s five archipelagos.

A sport that is intrinsically linked with the people of Tahiti, surfing in this stunning destination is unlike any other location, something the incredible imagery of photographer Ben Thouard has captured magnificently for this special publication.

Home to one of the world’s most famous waves, Teahupo’o, Tahiti is a surfer’s paradise and Horue will give even more people insight into why the destination’s waves are considered so special.

The digital version of Horue magazine is available free online.

Air Tahiti Nui links the South Pacific with four continents as the leading carrier to French Polynesia, with non-stop flights to Tahiti from Auckland, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Seattle, and non-stop flights connecting Paris with Los Angeles and Seattle.

Headquartered in Papeete, Tahiti, Air Tahiti Nui operates from its Tahiti base to destinations in 10 countries in cooperation with several codeshare partners including Qantas, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Aircalin, SNCF, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, and LATAM.
