Agents in a race around the UK and Ireland

Hannah Edensor

Four teams of lucky Aussie agents are currently being immersed in the beauty and culture of the UK and Ireland as they ‘Race Around’ the region.

The mega famil, which kicked off yesterday and runs until March 1, takes 60 agents on a whirlwind tour around Wales, Ireland, Scotland or England for five days, before converging in London for two days, and wrapping up with a Gala Dinner.

Qantas Holidays has pulled the support of key tourism bodies Tourism Ireland, Visit Scotland, Visit Wales, Visit England, Visit Britain, as well as Qantas, Cheval Residences and London’s Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotels, to make this major initiative happen.

The consultants taking part in the Race Around tour were selected based on points accrued from November 2014 to January 2015 from selling Qantas Holidays packages and Qantas Airways international tickets.

“After the incredible success of Qantas Holidays’ 2014 Race Around Hong Kong, we are thrilled to be partnering with Qantas Airways and taking 60 of Australia’s top agents to the UK and Ireland this year,” Qantas Holidays’ head of sales Fiona Dalton said.

“The UK and Ireland are such beautiful and popular holiday destinations, rich in culture and diversity. With the Rugby World Cup in England this year, this is a great opportunity for our Race Around participants to see firsthand what’s on offer.”
