AFTA cancels ATAS accreditation for whopping 20 agencies

Looks like the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) is cracking down on agents who aren’t complying with their ATAS code of conduct.

This time, a whopping 20 travel companies have had their ATAS accreditation cancelled, with a further seven voluntarily withdrawing.

AFTA has advised that participants who are no longer accredited must immediately take steps to remove any logo or reference to AFTA or ATAS from their website, business cards, any ancillary internet or social media sites, printed material (such as brochures, flyers or newsletters), stickers or window decals.

The association has listed the reasoning for the mass cancellation was the businesses had failed to renew as required under s2.5(n) of the ATAS Charter.
