A new ultra-luxe ship is joining the Silversea fleet

Silversea Cruises have announced their new ship, Silver Moon will cruise into action in 2020.

Silversea Cruises’ much anticipated ultra-luxury cruise ship, Silver Moon will be built by Fincantieri following the announcement of a contract worth approximately AU$463 million.

The construction of the cruise ship is expected to join the cruise line’s fleet in 2020, and will be the sister ship of Silver Muse.

Expected to maintain a small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodation, Silver Moon will weigh in at 40,700 gross tons with a capacity to accommodate 596 passengers on board. The small luxury cruise line’s new ship will expand its fleet to 10 vessels, when construction is complete in 2020.

“We pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding luxury cruise experience, and are delighted to partner once again with expert luxury shipbuilder Fincantieri as we continue to grow and evolve our fleet,” Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Chairman of Silversea said.

Among the highlights of Silver Moon will be the standout “Green Star 3 Design”, that is assigned to ships designed, built and equipped in order to prevent air and water pollution.

The “COMF-NOISE A PAX” and “COMF-NOISE B CREW” are assigned on the basis of the noise levels measured on the ship, and have proven to offer the very best levels of comfort to guests on board.

“We are very proud to build a new ship for the Silversea fleet, and follow on from the success of Silver Muse,” Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri, added.

“In recent years Fincantieri has continued to show that it is at the forefront of luxury ship building and we look forward to working with Silversea on this exciting build.”
