USA Mega Fam plays on in Nashville

Nashville has been the next port of call for nine Australian and New Zealand agents on a familiarisation tour of Tennessee.

The group is part of a group of 47 agents, split into five teams to tour different states in America. Other destinations include Utah, Colorado, NY/Washington and Texas.

Team Tennessee departed Memphis to travel to Nashville via Lynchburg, home to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery after a homestyle Southern lunch at Miss Mary Bobo’s boarding house. Jack Daniels himself is said to have dined there and food included okra, chicken casserole and roast beef.

In Nashville, the first evening’s entertainment was an acoustic songwriter performance at Bluebird Cafe, famous for unearthing new talent.  The popular venue had a queues to get in the door and has been publicised by HBO television show Nashville.

The music theme carried on with a tour of the historic RCA studio, where Elvis recorded many of his hits. Agents were able to see, record a song and even play on Elvis’ piano.

Next stop was the country music hall of fame tour, lunch at line dancing arena Wildhorse Saloon followed by a spot of cowboy boot shopping. Music mecca Ryman Auditorium was the next on the itinerary, followed by a Johnny Cash Museum tour.

Belle Meade Plantation was the setting for a homestead tour and wine tasting from the only vineyards in the state of Tennessee. This was followed by dinner and drinks at a Honky Tonk with a live band.

The famil will continue on to Dallas where all five famil groups will convene for a final night event with presentations and a film screening.
