Trafalgar confirms mass of departures
By admin

Trafalgar has confirmed 3200 departures of its 2013 Europe and Britain itineraries, attributing the rise in sales to strong demand for its range of Insider experiences.

The firm reported growth of 20% worldwide and 30% locally for the program, claiming success for its efforts to revamp the image of coach touring.

Matt Cameron-Smith, managing director Trafalgar Australia, said the Insider product offers a "more authentic, local travel experience" whilst leveraging the benefits of its brand.

"These extremely positive booking numbers indicate that Trafalgar is making serious inroads in repositioning the brand and transforming perceptions around the "coach tour" category", which in turn has allowed us to successfully attract new and increase repeat travellers,' he said.

Travel agents have been using the Insider experiences combined with the firm's early payment discounts to achieve higher commissions on sales, Cameron-Smith added.
