The Taiwan Tourism Bureau hosted a series of events on September 9 at the Sofitel Hotel Sydney and September 11 at Brisbane Hilton.

The guests at each event experienced a night of Taiwanese culture and gained an insight into why Taiwan is redefining the way we see Asia.

The event was the official launch in Australia of the new promotional campaign, ’Taiwan – The Heart of Asia’. 

The number of Australians visiting Taiwan is increasing each year and there has already been a year on year increase of 25% for the first six months of 2014. 

The events included workshop presentations by some of Taiwan’s local tour companies including; Edison Tours, Golden Foundation Tours and MyTaiwanTour whom also provided prizes for the events. A number of airlines and hotels also provided their generous support including Scoot, China Airlines, EVA Airlines, Marriott, Accor and Starwood

Guests were entertained and informed as to why Taiwan's culture, geography and cuisine is contributing towards it fast becoming one of the most popular destinations in Asia.

Taiwan was recently nominated by Lonely Planet as the “foodie mecca” of Asia!

Taiwan Tourism, director of Singapore branch, Mr Arthur Hsie led the delegation along with Golden Foundation Services Group president Ms. Jean Chang.
