Skyscanner finds hardest case to crack

Skyscanner finds hardest case to crack
By admin

Skyscanner has revealed the results of its strongest suitcase study ever, where a series of ‘tough tests’ were conducted in order to find which brands boast the best durability.

The tests were filmed, and included a simulated fall, a beating with a sledge hammer, and even being stomped on by a 150kg man.

The final test involved a car being dropped onto the suitcases, giving new meaning to the phrase ‘heavy duty’.

Skyscanner put luggage from a wide range of budgets to the test, ranging from $40 to $600, as well as incorporating lesser known brands and premium labels.

The suitcase survivors, and overall winners, were the Eminent Move Air, the Delsey Helium and LuggageX 77, proving the toughest cases don’t always come from the biggest brands.

“We know luggage can cop a battering on trips overseas, so we wanted to see how durable the average suitcase really is,” said Skyscanner representative, Dave Boyte.

“Were any [suitcases] so invincible that they could withstand even having a car land on them? We were surprised to find out the answer was yes – there are some seriously tough cases out there.”

The Eminent Move Air suitcase was rated best for frequent flyers, with a five year guarantee, sturdy double-spinner wheels, and a 5/5 score for all tests – including the car drop. Prices for this case start from $195.

Delsey Helium came in as one of the more expensive challengers at $429, but includes a 10 year guarantee and first prize for long-term investment.

LuggageX 77 was a high achiever, with the title of Best All Rounder, and a reasonable price of around $145.
