SLH puts privacy on top

Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has responded to demands in the luxury hotel sector with the launch of Private Residences by SLH, a collection that combines the personal service of small luxury properties with the private space of larger hotels.

In an annual survey by SLH that incorporated over 13,000 SLH Club members worldwide, privacy and intimacy was rated by over 25% as the most important factor when booking a luxury holiday.

In addition, time was seen as one of the most valued commodities on holiday, providing SLH another incentive to combine luxury hotel services with the privacy of exclusive residences.

SLH’s CEO Paul Kerr said 2013 saw a surge in the number of hotels wanting to join the brand, with 2014 reporting a 27% increase in the number of exclusive-use hotels (under 10 rooms) wanting to join.

“There is clearly a demand for this type of property which has led the way for the launch of Private Residences by SLH,” Kerr said.

“We also saw a similar trend in the SLH Club statistics; in 2013 we saw a 43% increase in the number of Club members spending over $750 per night when compared to 2012.”

A number of SLH hotels have private residences listed on the site, including MUSE Pangkor Laut Estates and Foxhill Manor.
