LATAM Airlines Group has revealed a rise in operating income of 166% for the fourth quarter ended December 31.

It reported a operating income of US$234.9 million (AUD$258.63 million) for the three month period – up from US$88.3 million (AUD$97.2 million) in the previous year’s fourth quarter.

For the full year of 2013 LATAM reported operating income of US643.9 million (AUD$708.9 million), a 605% increase on the US$91.4 million (AUD$100.6 million) in 2012.

 

Luxury travel network Virtuoso has welcomed its latest member this week, Sydney-based travel agency Travel Anywhere.

 

Freestyle travel experts Busabout, Haggis and Shamrocker are offering a range of discounts on selected bookings made before April 30.

Discounts include 15% off all Eastern European adventures, 10% off selected European festivals, 10% off Croatia Sailing itinerary selected departures and 8% off selected European adventures.

 

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Thorsten Kirschke as president of the Asia Pacific region.

Carlson chief operating officer, David Berg, underlined the Asia Pacific region as a key growth market for the hotel group.

 

Online ticketing company Eventbrite is set to open an office in Melbourne, in addition to acquiring the customer base of local ticketing company, GreenTix.

Last year saw exponential growth for Eventbrite in Australia, with more than half of the total Australian events on its platform posted in 2013.

 

Langham Hospitality Group have appointed Robert Warman to take over the position of chief executive officer from Brett Butcher, who is set to retire from the company.

 

Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened a new hotel in the coastal city of Nha Trang, Vietnam.

A 40-minute drive from Cam Ranh International Airport, InterContinental Nha Trang features 279 rooms, which includes 56 luxury suites.

IHG currently has six hotels open in Vietnam, with a further seven being developed.   

                                                                                   

NZ Ski has announced that their Mt Hutt triple chairlift will be operational for the 2014 ski season, featuring a new look and improvements.

A new terrain park is also in development, while early bird season passes are available for a discounted price until Thursday March 20.
